Course Description

The paralegal profession continues to expand both in number of employment opportunities and potential career paths. Having options in this dynamic profession empowers the paralegal. The Employment Law Specialist Certificate Program is designed to enhance your skill and knowledge about specific areas of the law, increase your value to current employers, and expand your career opportunities. Employment law encompasses contractual agreements, duties of the employer and the rights of the employee, termination, harassment, discrimination issues including those involving race, age, sex discrimination, and sexual orientation. Required coursework includes Administrative Law and Employment Law. Participants will have the opportunity to choose two elective courses in E-Discovery, Legal Ethics, Laws of Evidence, Advanced Legal Research, and Constitutional Law. This course is taught exclusively online. Participants will receive a Pace University Paralegal Specialist Certificate in Employment Law.
