On behalf of the Board of Trustees, it is my special privilege to announce that Pace's next president will be Marvin Krislov. He was elected by a unanimous vote of the Board and will take office on August 1, 2017.

Marvin impressed the Presidential Search Committee throughout every step of this process with his humility, integrity, intelligence, insight, energy, and good humor. Across his career, he has proven himself a dedicated teacher, an accomplished scholar, a skilled leader, and a passionate advocate for the transformative impact of higher education. Since 2007, as president of Oberlin College, one of America's top liberal arts institutions, Marvin has led Oberlin in enhancing its student experience, increasing its student diversity and academic excellence, strengthening and expanding its faculty, and improving its fundraising, campus facilities, environmental sustainability, and community relations. Marvin's vision for Pace perfectly aligns with our mission of Opportunitas and will enhance our exceptional combination of liberal arts and professional preparation across our campuses. We welcome him with tremendous enthusiasm for Pace's future.

This appointment is the result of months of tireless work by the University's 15-member Presidential Search Committee and its chair, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees Richard F. Zannino '84, who were assisted by the search firm Storbeck/Pimentel and Associates. We are indebted to students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends across the Pace Community for their passionate engagement in the search process. We had an outstanding pool of candidates, and the quality and energy of the Pace Community's participation in the search sent a powerful message to them about this great institution and its future.

We will have many opportunities to extend our appreciation to President Stephen J. Friedman for his extraordinary leadership of Pace during the last decade, and we are very excited to honor and give special thanks to him for all the work he is already doing to ensure a smooth and effective transition to our next president.
